Dolce and Get Banned, Huh?
If you read the fashion mags, you no doubt have seen the steamy new Dolce & Gabbana ads. They are pretty much porn; hot and ridiculous at the same time. Well, it looks like Spain couldn’t handle the heat. The powers that be claimed that particular images advocated violence towards women. The zesty fashionisters were stunned and decided it was all or nothing, so they pulled the entire advertising campaign from the country.
Sex and scandal sell, so the ads certainly have been a success, but are they ban worthy?
Objectifying women is nothing new in the fashion world and D&G is an equal opportunity offender. All the men are nearly naked too!
Is Spain pulling an Eve Ensler and fighting for women’s rights? Or is the country getting as ultra-conservative as ours?
